WHAT IS AN HONESTY BAR?
Honesty bars have long been used by B&B owners as a way to offer drinks and snacks to their guests. The premise is simple; B&B owners pop a display of various items in a common room such as a lounge, where guests can help themselves to the offering. Upon taking an item, guests make a note on a piece of paper as to what it was they they have taken from the selection. On check out, the guests then pay for any extras that they had from this selection, thus the name, the 'honesty bar'.
